Born in France, S.E. Glovier lived her formative years in the Roussillion region in the South of France. She practiced her art surrounded by the profound influences of the great artists of the 20th Century, who had traveled constantly between Paris and Barcelona and had worked in the region; including such giants of the art world as: Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Chagall, Dali and Cezanne.
She was raised near the studio of the internationally acclaimed French sculptor Artstide Maillol, who, with Auguste Rodin before him, defined the creative power and adventurousness of modern French and European sculpture, and inspired her early interest in sculpting.
S. E. Glovier's quest for artistic excellence has driven her to study and work in many creative corners of the world. Besides her work in France, she has lived and studied Sculptural Form and World Art in and around London and Cambridge University, and moved to the edge of the Pacific Ocean in California where she developed her present style with its sensitive central explorations of human expression and existence.
There is a cross-cultural timelessness in her work, an original innovative esthetic inspired by her inner sensibility to fundamental spiritual and psychological themes.
The flowing interrelationship of these Sculptures with one who observes them is the product of an organic gestalt formed by the artist to allow one to experience part of the artist’s subjective reality reflected in the unique palimpsest of each observer’s mind.
S.E. Glovier sculpts in the South of France and Los Angeles.
